John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Praying the prayer is just the beginning; you need to study the Word of God to grow to maturity. Being a Christian is a lifestyle of reading the Bible, praying to God the Father and sharing the Word with others. The Lord said in Mathew 3:8 "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance".
Ephesians 2:7-10 That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
1Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
The God that was manifest in the flesh is identified as YaHVeh, the Most High, the Almighty showing His unchangeable faithfulness to His covenanted promises to His people.
The Bible says that The Lord God Almighty, himself was manifest in the flesh. If you accept Jesus Christ as you Lord and Saviour, it is the Almighty himself that covenants with you.
The prayer:Almighty Father, I am a sinner and am in desperate need of salvation. According to John 3:16, I will have eternal life through your Son, Jesus Christ. I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour and ask that He become King of my life.I ask that Jesus will come in and cleanse my life from all sin. Lord Jesus, please take full control of my life.Thank you Father that Jesus came into my life as my Lord and Saviour and help me to live my life accordingly and to grow into full maturity in Christ.Amen
Mathew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
The next step is to be baptized in the Name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Mathew 28:19) Then we, as mature Christians, should teach them to keep and do all the things we were taught as young believers.
And then to be filled with the Holy Spirit which is confirmed be speaking in an unknown tongue.
Acts 19:4-6 Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
