- What are the qualifications needed for ministry?
- Will anyone allow me to do it? I didn't go to Bible college.
- What is "full time" ministry?
But what does the Bible say about these things?
The disciples spent 3 years with Jesus in personal training to then be released into ministry. Many are quick to say that they were taught by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. Today people have to go to a Bible college or get a degree.
How is it that people can attend a 6 week evangelism course and go out and effectively bring the unsaved to the Lord? Isn't that what the Lord told his disciple to go and do?
Mathew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
If we look closely at the great commission, as it is called in the church, we see a number of things:
1. Jesus defined the source of their power - Himself. Because ALL POWER was given to HIM they were sent.
2. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: - He saw them as enabled because of the following:
a. They were taught on a personal basis,
2. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: He saw them as enabled because of the following:
b. He said to them, before the time, that his Father was going to send them the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to teach them all things and to remind them of the things Jesus told them.
John 14:25-26 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
3. Jesus told them what to go and teach them:
a. All the things whatsoever I have commanded you - and know this: I am with you every time you teach, right up to the end of the world.
My question is : why limit the number of people preaching the Gospel to the number that can go through Bible colleges and Bible schools? How will we ever reach the stage spoken of in Hebrews 8:11?
Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
What is the problem in the Church today? The Christians sit back and wait for the 'pastor' to reach the people. Why? Because a culture of 'inferior' Christians has been created in the church by the devil and everyone believes it.
We must begin to create a new culture of reaching people for the Lord.
Mark 4:14-20 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.
Let's take note of this parable and begin to understand what things are keeping people from growing in Christ and let us not limit the numbers we can reach for Christ.
If we understand that "full time" ministry simply means to be available to the Father everyday all day, even while you work, to be used as it pleases Him; we are all in fill time ministry.
What qualifications do I need to before I can become part of FCCA-Int?
- The most important aspect that we are looking for is a definite call and anointing from the Lord.
- We also expect that people are properly trained for ministry. A clear description of the Lord's expectation for someone to be placed in ministry are found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. Verse 6 makes it very clear that no novice shall become a minister / pastor / bishop / elder.
- Pastors that are currently in lay ministry or pastors that are running a church that never had official training, can also apply to become part of FCCA-Int. We will put him / her in contact with the right people to help them qualify while in ministry.

These are questions that so many people are asking and are getting so many different answers for. The answers also depend who you are talking to. Most denominations are insisting that you have to attend their own Bible Colleges to be recognized and ordained as pastors in their midst.
